Automate tasks, write your own software with Macros
Macros are a great productivity tool. It allows you to run series of actions with a click of a button. Macros help you work smartly.
A macro is a set of tasks combined together so that you can run or replay the entire task together with a single command. Macros are a powerful productivity tool. With macros you can perform long or boring tasks just by a single click.
Where do you find macros?
Macros are very popular with most of the Windows software.
- Many applications provide macro capability inbuilt, like MS Excel, MS Word etc. These applications provide macro recording capabilities as well as some kind of macro language. For example: you can record a macro in Excel to perform calculations, format cells or just about anything you do in Excel.
- There are some software vendors that provide general-purpose macro programs that can work across all Windows software That’s what we are interested in for interacting with our browser, changing proxies, and creating our own dirt cheap semi auto posting program.
What can you do with macros?
Tons. Anything and everything that is repetitive can be done using macros. All of us perform many repetitive actions day after day on our computers. Once you are aware that these are repetitive actions, you can easily create a macro for it and next time perform it with a click of a button.
Examples: Login and check your multiple mail accounts, format data, insert date and copyright notices onto your documents, generate reports, copy data between applications. If you are experiencing harassing phone calls, you can also make your macro program interact with your, or someone else’s skype, magic jack, google voice or other voip to constantly call them back, effectively shutting off their phone, and filing their answering machine with whatever comes to our mind. This is illegal in some places, and not in others. It is legal in Sudbury Ontario to call someone repeatedly as long as no threats are made or implied.
Should you use macros?
If you think you are doing the same task again and again and it is frustrating and wasting your time and energy, you are ready to use macros. Even if it is not getting on your nerve, using a macro is a smart and fun way of working. Just understanding what you can do with macros will suggest new and more productive ways to get your job done. Here is an excellent program, easy to learn to use. You don’t need the pro version, no matter how sophisticated you get.
You must use caution when you use this program, it really is capable of some very unexpected things.. It can be very dangerous. My kitty touched the mouse when I went out for coffee one day. This activated a relay board plugged into the computer that turned on a large variac. The variac had a neon sign transformer plugged into it. The neon sign transformer lit up a full size tesla coil in my house. So eventually since no one was there to turn it off, and I had not installed a emp choke in the system, the emp back pulse heated up the power pole transformer outside my neighbors house, and exploded it! He had just “smoked one” he informed me as he related his tale, “I was just sittin there, watchin my new big screen, and all of a sudden in the middle of the day light, blinding flashes came threw my picture window! So I jumped up and hid behind a wall and peeked out the curtain, it was like God was outside my window takin pictures of me! Then all of a sudden it exploded like a cannon and everything was dead quiet. I wasn’t sure if I was even still alive.. all the power was off..”
This all transpired while I was out for the afternoon, and was repaird by the time I got home. So how did I find out it was the cat? Well, the next time I clicked the mouse when he was sitting in my lap, he clawed the hell out of my lap trying to escape the sound of the mouse click. Then I knew. So, even a cat can make your neighbor have a religious experience by using macros. The power of this tpe of software is limited only by your imagination. Explore, but exercise caution.
