Posting, the Advanced class

Summary:

Since so many of you are off to the races pushing buttons and not reading, let us first summarize for you a few steps you should have already taken before you use our software for the first time.

  • Make all new accounts, one per day, and post lightly at first. 5 accounts per ip max, and use our CraigsAccounts app to create them, or remove all your Craigslist cookies between each sign in manually every time. Remove all cookies for Craigslist first, then load the page to create accounts or sign in.
  • If your ads are coming down, you’re softblocked. Something YOU did caused this, (Repetitive Title, Spam, Multiple sign-ins from different IP’s) and now your competitors can flag you off easily. Read this full guide, follow all our rules with a new account, and you’re back in business.
  • Do not “revolve” your ips to post. Always keep the same ip that you made the account with to post from if you can. Do not sign into the same account from a bunch of different IP’s or you will get that account softblocked.

Here below, is the advanced class on posing a better Craigslist ad, making it stick, monitoring it’s traffic and diagnosing why you’re getting ghosted, softblocked and flagged. Some of our posting info is at the end of the page in a short booklet for you to read. To begin, lets look at some tools you will need to take control of your online business. You need digital eyes, digital ears, and some digital whiskers. You are going to create for your business, essentially a digital robotic being that resides in cyberspace, and reports to you exactly what is going on in there, so you can better adapt and apply the information for trouble shooting problems, identifying and discarding your wasted resources, and building upon your successes.

A Beautiful Ad

The creativity of the marketer should not be as simple as multiplication. Hey, if 500 ads a day gives me this much, how about I do, 5000, and I will make 10 times the money.. Did you ever see the movie A Beautiful Mind? John Nash discovered a tremendous economic principal that rocked the entire world. He wrote that “the best possible result, where we all win, is when the individual does what is best for themselves, and the group.” This replaced the old principal of economics, that held the idea that “the best possible result is achieved when the individual does what is best for themselves”. For this very simple yet powerful insight, he was eventually given the Nobel Peace prize. This principal has been applied to every different kind of situation it can be in business, and has never yet been found to be flawed or disproved in any way.

So, how do you do subscribe to this principal, yet still find a way to not limit your own economic success? If you’re going to limit your operation to 500 ads a day to help keep Craigslist a sustainable economic resource for you, and everyone else, then you need to make those 500 ads really count. Make your ads the best ads on there. Make them stand out. Make them moving gif ads that look like video clips if your in a section that still allows HTML. Raise the bar higher so that people who continue to use the old thinking, will either have to adapt, and use those same techniques, or they will die out, in Darwinian style, because they couldn’t evolve. Use knowledge as your weapon, and you will be doing what is best for yourself, and the group, and come out on top always. Study how to make great gif ads. Hardly anyone knows how to do it, and its easier than you think when you roll up your sleeves and just learn it. Track your ads, and your click thru’s, discarding what doesn’t work, and enhance and replicate your successes.

Since Craigslist ban on <html> and <img> tags on the General and Housing sections, tracking ads, and hosting your own images is only available in the Services sections. Which happens to be where most of you are posting anyway. The flagger groups tend to flag any commercial interest that is posted in the general sections anyway, if you haven’t noticed already.

The Bulletproof Account

In Craigslist, many people are spamming, so they are softblocked, and they get flagged very easily because they are using old and or softblocked accounts. If this is your case, you are definitely softblocked. How is it that some people get away with hundreds of postings every day you ask? Perhaps they are using Craigslist’s own bulk posting method. Did you know they allow bulk posting to some agencies? (https://www.Craigslist.org/about/bulk_posting_interface#sample_client) If your out of this loop, you will need to be more cautious. With a new IP, and account there is a simple solution to your getting flagged, or ghosting troubles. Post only 2-6 ads per day per account, per IP. Follow the rules. And then use a different company name, different title, phone number, different account, different IP to do the same thing if you want to spam and get away with it. Use the text to image service to create images out of your text, so you can avoid Craigslist softblocking you based on your ad content. If the person flagging you has access to unlimited IP’s because they probably work in a different place with WiFi every day. They will have access to all the local hotspots. They could also just wardrive down the main street with our software, and pound your accounts until they “pop”. Once your accounts are blown, he can wipe out all the ads posted by the blown account with just a few flags. Its automatic, the threshold has been lowered, and will not raise again. Your can use our CraigsAccount app, or manually clear your cookies, get a new account and follow the red rule.

Edit Delete RepostEventually, you will have many ads coming up for renewal. You should limit your account to 50 ads, so you don’t encourage a bot to come along and softblock you, or be required to constantly re verify your accounts. We have an auto posting tool called CraigsPoster Pro, and it has been programmed to follow all of these rules for you, and not get your accounts softblocked. All the other posters require you to create PVA’s, and they do not take care of them. If they have an IP solution at all, it’s usually based on scrapeing free, junk IP’s from around the net. Our Proxy Revolver manages up to 10 accounts, and only allows the correct IP to be automatically used for each CraigsPoster Pro account, always.

However, the beauty of CraigsPoster Pro, is you can renew all your ads with it, all from the same IP due to it’s design. You don’t need any proxies or proxy manager to use CraigsPoster Pro for 10 accounts anywhere in the world, from anywhere in the world, from the same IP. But, if you’re going to pause the bot, and post from it as well, or edit the posts from within the program, you will need to be following all the posting rule, and have an IP within 50 miles of the area you are posting in.

Proxys

We go over proxys in the Proxy tutorial quite thoroughly. But just for the sake of clarity, here are a few points to make sure you’re not being softblocked, or reducing your flagging threshold.

  • Use only elite anonymous proxies to post.
  • Keep the same ip for the same account always. Do not “revolve” IP’s for posting, that is a flagging only tactic.
  • Use one account per ip address/proxy to be safe, but up to 4 accounts are fine in our experience.
  • Craigslist is geoipspecific. You must have an ip address/proxy server that is located within 50 miles from the Craigslist site you’re trying to post from.
  • Don’t ever use TOR proxies.
  • Don’t use free proxies. All the Craigslist spammers are using them, you will be softblocked.

Many users are using HMA for their proxy solution. They are not guaranteed, and they specifically ask you not to use it for that.(they are sick of dealing with Craigslisters who demand perfect working proxies when its Craigslist making the posting rules, not HMA) So, if you decide to use it for Craigslist, do not tell them, or complain to them, or abuse their service. We have had tons of positive reports, and only a few negative reports about HMA

Server Logs

How can you see the Craigslist server logs with respect to your ads and their visitors? You can plant an image link on their server inside of your ad. Each time your ad is visited, your server will report everything about the computer accessing your image. But to whom is the image reporting? If you have your own server, it will be in your server log. Standard server logs are just text files. Endless text from every function performed by your server. There are some who develop technologies to submit each request and corresponding computer information to a convenient database with a user friendly interface so you can see at a glance, which images was clicked, by who, running what, and when.

They even offer a free short trial. (the $ per year is more than worth the benefit though.) I have included a direct link to the account in the software, you just click it, and your trackers pop up so you can see who has been visiting you, and who has been attacking you. This is also very useful for gathering evidence for a lawsuit. They are smart enough to flag you 4 times in a row, clearing their cookies each time and refreshing their page, but do they realize you know who they are, what OS they are running, their browser? Nope, not likely. So, using this service is like a mirror of CL’s server logs pertaining to your ads. It takes 20 seconds to create a tracker, and one click on the CraigsFlagger Pro dashboard to check them all.

In Conclusion

Now you’re light years ahead of your competitors. Test, experiment and apply all you know to be as successful as you feel you need to be. There really is no limit, except the limits of your imagination. The next topics to follow up this one are, Ghost Protocol, and Writing Ads, please go over them carefully as well.

**Did we mention you can create 10 new emails every morning and make 10 new CL accounts.. Use these non PVA accounts to Post your ads where ever you want out side the services sections, and you wont be required to verify. Think outside the box friends, that’s where the majority of the searches are. No PVA’s required!
