Telephone records are important sources of marketing information and easy ways to identify a problem you never would have noticed if you didn’t have these records. If you looked at your phone records for a month, and found the same number calling you intermittently throughout the weeks, day, night.. hanging up.. What would you do? Call them back? Ask them why they were bothering your business? Ask them who they are? Try to record them as evidence for a court case? Internet stalkers are everywhere. As it turns out, they work with you, for you, around you, in the same industry as you. If only you had server logs of all the attention they pay to your advertisements and if only you had telephone records at your fingertips, even better, with a copy of each call recorded. What if you could find out who was pestering you and tap their phone..? Sound to good to be true? Keep reading..

You need a set of digital ears. We use tossable digits. We have used them for years, which is why we integrated them in the software. We create virtual phone numbers in our area, and these are the only numbers the business ever uses. Only friends and family need to have your real cell number. We change that often. We just complain about being harassed from ads online, and they give us a new one every 2 weeks. Then of course we make another CL PVA. Your new number sometimes needs to be valid for 1 day before CL will accept it. You must also have it operational for a couple of weeks. Their system now checks,and will invalidate an account if the number associated with it has disappeared too quickly.

So, you advertise your digital numbers, one per ad campaign so the flagger stalkers can’t get all your ads, or know they are even you. Each of your ads are worded differently with different phone numbers from different accounts. This way, if CL gets involved, and searches your CL account, your 302 555 1111 phone number is the only number ever posted in that account for example. If Craigslist should find one phone number spread across multiple accounts, they can find all your accounts instantly, and remove all your ads and invalidate everything all at once.

You can use one digital number for newspaper ads, a different one in a certain CL ad, a different one on your fliers. This way,  you can track which of your campaigns has the most success by which phone numbers log the calls. You can also use these virtual telephone logs to also cross reference stalkers (repeat callers / tire kickers) who call all your numbers because they are trying to identify everyone in the industry / section is so they can locate all of your ads, and flag you based upon your phone numbers.

We have special surprises for these stalkers. First of all, they are blind. we’re not. We see them, their number repeats across all of our virtual lines, and we record them, every call. With tossable digits you can set the system to record all your calls, and send any email address you have a message with a copy of the call. (handy dandy) You can specify rules for each and every phone number, or you can also use variables. For instance, all blocked calls (use 1000*) get forwarded to the company voicemail where they can be filtered later, and not interrupt our business line during the day. All calls from all other non local area codes except ours are also filtered and forwarded to the voicemail.

This prevents free internet phones such as google voice bobsled etc, from contacting you. You can also filter skype by using 2*

For the known liars, losers, collectors, and jackasses.. you collect and forward their specific phone numbers to the FBI, or your local police station. Its very entertaining. We complained to authorities numerous times about telephone harassment. We recorded the jackasses, gathered evidence and wasted many hours in the police station to no avail. So, now we have decided that the police can handle these callers who harass us directly.

Here is another aspect you can use for evidence if you’re being harassed. It’s all recorded as well, you have a complete collection of the recordings. You can hear Mr Jerk say things like, “how do I know you’re a cop” and you can listen to the officer patiently repeat themselves for the 3rd time, “you have reached the *** police department non-emergency line sir…”. For some of these jerks, just have their telephone numbers forward to their other line or a different competitor.

Going on vacation and you want to make use of the customers you wont be able to service? You can forward your digital phone number to your competitor. Set the tossable digits number to record all of the calls. Login to tossable digits, and listen to the calls as you get the time. Now you know his sales pitch, and how he deals with the customers, his bait and switch moves etc.

You can take the mp3 files tossable digits sent you, cut them up into clips, and make a celebrity sound board of the jerk. They really don’t have a clue how you could have possibly tapped their phone. But you didn’t. You just tapped your own telephone line, and let them use it. You can place fake Craigslist ads, “free case of wine” and put your phone number in the ad. Forward it to Mr Jackass. Record the fun, make a new soundboard with clips of him yelling and being a jerk. You can also be one of the callers, and record the fun, as they have to deal with the typical worst customer they ever spoke to.

Another fun way to get more clips for your sound board, or police evidence file on Mr Jerk, is to phone him by forwarding the tossable digits line to him (make sure the recording feature is set for that number as well) and then call your own number. Have a preplanned scripted conversation with him. Get him to threaten you, and swear and just be a jerk. Talk about Craigslist with him. Then you use http://calleridfaker.com and call all of the other people competing in your section from the jerks own telephone number. Line up all the voice clips in winamp. You have already called the jerk and had a conversation about his posting habits on Craigslist. So, now you might have him in his own voice threatening to flag you, kill you, post all over top of you, etc. You need to set the winamp settings to allow multiple instances of the program, so you can assemble different dialogs into live playlists, turn off the automatic playback feature. Then load up his clips, call the competition, from jerks number, and using a headphone speaker pressed against the mic of the cell phone, you can use his own voice from the recording clips you made of Mr Jerk.

You could use this method to call everyone in the section. What happens? Everyone flags Mr Jerk. Endlessly on Craigslist along with you. We don’t endorse any illegal or immoral behavior. However, there are times when you might need to save your self from a very ugly person who will never stop unless you stop them. This is a very reasonable alternative to violence, but don’t use this information or our technology to bully people..
